Tuttobene Tuscana Rosso
Tenimenti Angelini produces excellent wines from the three
main wine regions in Tuscany: Chianti (San Leonino), Montalcino (Val di Suga)
and Montepulciano (Tenuta TreRose). Under the careful supervision of
Director/Winemaker Mario Calzolari, Angelini has managed to
do something that is not easy to accomplish: to capture in a bottle the essence
of Tuscany, its sunny days, its warmth and the Mediterranean flavors that go so
well with classic Italian dishes.
The wine is tuttobene, meaning "all is going
well." tuttobene has the TOSCANA IGT (Indicazione Geografica Tipica)
denomination and is made from a judicious varietal blend that is characteristic
of the Tuscan region.
Tuscany (Italian: Toscana, pronounced [tosˈkaːna]) is a
region in Central Italy. It has an area of about 23,000 square kilometers
(8,900 sq mi) and a population of about 3.7 million inhabitants. The regional
capital is Florence. Tuscany is known for its beautiful landscapes, its rich
artistic legacy and vast influence on high culture. Tuscany is widely regarded
as the true birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, and has been home to some of
the most influential people in the history of arts and science, such as
Petrarch, Dante, Botticelli, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Galileo Galilei,
Amerigo Vespucci, Luca Pacioli and Puccini. Due to this, the region has several
museums (such as the Uffizi, the Pitti Palace and the Chianciano Museum of
Art). Tuscany has a unique culinary tradition, and is famous for its wines
(most famous of which are Chianti, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Morellino di
Scansano and Brunello di Montalcino). All of these wines are expensive even
Chianti has become more expensive. There are no plain Chiantis (not Classico or
Reserva) anywhere near the $10 price point anymore. Here is a tasty Tuscan red
to the rescue.
Wine Tasting Notes
Tuttobene is a very pleasant wine with great structure and balance.
The nose and palate display ripe fruit, red berries and subtle herbal notes. It
is medium to full-bodied with remarkable tannins, yet is also silky with a
smooth acidity and a rich, fruity finish.
